The Piparchhedi experience….
So, I started 2021 with a casual visit to my friend Chetak’s home at Piparchhedi. It’s a village in Chhattisgarh. It’s a place of greenery close to the natural ways. After all, it’s a place sustaining itself primarily on agriculture. Piparchhedi is not exactly disconnected from the modern ways of 2020’s but it’s still mostly rooted in the old ways of the last decade. Stuff like bathing in irrigation bores and clay ovens fueled by cow dung and firewood is pretty common here.
Chetak’s Piparchhedi is truly a great place to relax and refuel one’s mental energy. Life is slow here. You can leisurely spend the day walking around, socialising with warm local human and non-human friends or go for long drives to tourist and picnic spots like Gangrel dam and Narhara waterfalls nearby without the guilt of not accomplishing anything in the day. In fact, not just the day. My visit happily coincided with Piparchhedi’s annual inter-village cricket tournament which was taking place at night. Although my knowledge and skills of cricket are close to non-existent, watching the matches casually was fun.
The complete casual tour starting from the solo bike ride from Bhubaneswar to Chhattisgarh, meeting my friend after 8 long months and staying there for two days was really rejuvenating….
But after a while, once again it was time for returning home back to the regular busy life but back with batteries fully recharged for this new year and what it holds….
Sooo, we visited a few places around Chhattisgarh and here’s the montage…. Enjoy….
