That's a very valid point. But I'm not talking about dedicated certifications like that of a life guard, driving license etc. I'm talking about introductory courses like the Bachelor degrees where there's a huge range in the grading to determine skills. For example, a student passing with 6 points is very different from a student passing with 9 points.... There for lotta students it's an opportunity to explore what they really wanna do. The interpretation might depend a bit on the culture of the nation. I'm speaking with perspective to Indian education....
