I've noticed this shift becoming more prominent too.

Just two callouts:

1. I don't Apple ever had flat design. Even if we look at the design language of iOS 7, it's not flat. It's just a bit minimal compared to iOS 6....

2. When it comes to being pioneers of flat design, I'd say it is Microsoft and Google, not Apple. Although, Microsoft has moved away from that with Windows 11....
